Why did you join USG?
I joined USG because ever since high school I’ve had a passion for making positive change in my school environment. Throughout high school, I was elected into student government and had an amazing time coming up with creative and innovative ways to better our school community and our local community. I wanted to further pursue this passion in college.
What are you hoping to accomplish this year?
This year, my primary focuses will be accessibility and mental health. Accessibility is something that is really important to me as a disabled person and I believe that in improving the accessibility on campus, we can better the college experience of so many disabled people, including myself. Also, I would like to work to make mental health resources, more available and more advertised, especially for students who may be too afraid or nervous to reach out for help on their own.
What is your hometown?
Congers, New York
What is your favorite thing about Fordham?
My favorite thing about Fordham is its connection to the Bronx. After doing Urban Plunge, and also taking the Bronx Exploration class through the honors program core, I’ve learned so much about the history and community here within the Bronx. I love that Fordham encourages students to be active Bronx residents. Also, we get to reside in a beautiful campus within an urban city that is rich in opportunities.
What has been your favorite class at Fordham so far?
My favorite class so far is probably philosophy. I’ve never taken a philosophy class, and yes, while it is a lot of reading, I find it really interesting.
