Anna Lazzaro

Vice President of Fordham College Rose Hill

Fordham College at Rose Hill, Class of 2021

Major: International Political Economy and Psychology
Committees: FCRH Dean’s Council
Clubs: UNICEF, United Student Government
Other Relevant Experience: I have worked on numerous Deans Council initiatives on campus. I have also been on the e-board on UNICEF for two years and I have been a part of two research projects on campus, all of which have given me plenty of experience working with Fordham Administration in multiple areas of discipline. I have also participated in campus movie fest and the playwrights festival which gives me experience in leading groups in new settings which is well suited to a student government position. I have also been to college council where I represented the student body to FCRH Deans and Department heads.

Why did you join USG?

I originally joined a USG committee because I was interested in promoting undergraduate research involvement so I joined the Dean’s Council to help on this initiative. From this, I learned about all the other work students were accomplishing on USG and I became motivated to join in the efforts of representing the student voice and promoting campus activities.

What are you hoping to accomplish this year?

One initiative that I have worked on and would like to continue next year is the new FASA program which can help improve freshman advising, as well as restarting the Transfer Mentorship Program which launched in 2019. I would also love to increase communication between FCRH students and administration, creating real change in small steps.

Where are you originally from?

Orlando, FL

If you really knew me, you’d know that…

I think Picasso is overrated.

My favorite place on Fordham’s Rose Hill campus is…

The Blackbox.

What is your favorite quote?

“Those who oppose change, those who benefit from an unjust status quo, have always bet on the public’s cynicism or the public’s complacency. Make sure they lose that bet.”
