Why did you join USG?

I joined the United Student Government because I want to create a fair and open platform for all students, not just the ones which I directly represent, to be allowed to bring up ideas. Transparency was something I stressed during my campaign and it is something I stress now. Personally, I have been known to be extroverted and friendly. I want to put these characteristics to an effective use where I can create a real difference not only for myself but for everyone who speaks up. I believe that as a member of the Senate, I will be able to voice the opinions of all those I represent by sticking to what I believe will most effectively better our school year as a community. I take this responsibility very seriously and always welcome anyone with an opinion to approach me and discuss what you believe needs to be done for our Ramily.

What are you hoping to accomplish this year?

This year I hope to bring a farmer’s market at a much larger scale then what is already available. I believe that such an event would not only connect the Bronx community, specifically stores from Arthur Avenue, with the Fordham community while also providing a fair market to promote nearby stores. Similar to other farmer’s markets nearby, there will be an array of stores with their own stands, such as bakeries and farmers. This will allow students to not only get a chance to experience all of the wonderful food there is in the community but will also provide students a chance to get fresh produce and such for a healthier way of life. This will also hopefully make it easier for students with dietary restrictions to have another option for where to get food. If requested, new stores can be invited to the market to provide options that would accommodate these students.
