Committee on Sexual Misconduct
About the Committee
The Committee on Sexual Misconduct is a newly formed assemblage of United Student Government. The Committee aims to continue with the discussion of sexual misconduct that was sparked by the Sexual Misconduct Task Force of the 2014-2015 academic year. The mission of the Committee of Sexual Misconduct has always been to:
- Foster and promote a culture of affirmative consent on Fordham University’s campus.
- Examine the impact of campus-wide, nation-wide, or globally important policies related to the prevention of sexual misconduct; and the response and support for community members affected by incidents of sexual misconduct or similar instances.
- Encourage members of our community to report incidents of sexual misconduct by increasing accessibility and awareness of our campus’ resources for Fordham University members.
- Reform and amend administrative structural systems, policies, prevention, training and support related to sexual violence on Fordham University’s campus.
- Amplify the voices of survivors. This can include —but is not limited to—sexual assault, domestic violence, harassment (verbal or physical) or stalking.
- Strengthen partnerships with various departments, clubs, and organizations across our campus to facilitate educational workshops or programs surrounding sexual violence.
CSM meets on Mondays at 7 PM in the Campbell ILC room.
