To the Club Leaders at Fordham University at Rose Hill,

As the University begins to transition back to in-person meetings and events, we, the
United Student Government, would like to recommend to leaders of
extracurricular clubs and organizations to keep the virtual component available
to students.

We believe that by doing so, student involvement will increase, as the
virtual component enables students who cannot attend in-person to partake in club
meetings or events. Additionally, adding a virtual component can compensate for
later starting times, making it more accessible for commuter students to attend.
Moreover, the University has upgraded our technical infrastructure to meet the
technological demands the hybrid format presents. Club leaders will have access to
the necessary equipment for hybrid meetings such as cameras, microphones, etc.
which have been set up in Keating and Dealy classrooms, Bepler Commons, and
Rose Hill Commons for an overall easier technical experience.

Although this recommendation may not be applicable for clubs that require
in-person meetings (i.e. sports clubs and performing arts clubs), we believe that by
tailoring the hybrid option to specific events that these clubs may hold
(i.e.informational sessions, discussion meetings), attendance and involvement may
increase.

As student leaders ourselves, we understand the growing demands put on club
leaders, especially in this hybrid format. However, we are also cognizant of the shift
in environment throughout the pandemic and the lasting role hybrid interactions will
play in years to come.

As always, USG is eager to discuss further ways in which we may accommodate the
community as we navigate through these unprecedented times. We look forward to
continued discussion and, as always, we are readily available to offer our support
and help club leaders navigate.

We thank you for your consideration,

The United Student Government at Rose Hill
